Hi Bernard. I’m an enormous fan. Have just re-read Azincourt, and am avidly waiting to see what you do next. I am actually writing my own historical novel, set during the Viking Age, at the moment. The story commences thirty years before the Battle of Edington. I actually have three chapters written, and am happy with the direction of the book, but my story requires my lead character to be an archer of the standard found in Azincourt – in the Viking Age! I can’t ditch the feeling that no-one is going to accept this idea, even though I know the Norse used bows, primarily for hunting. I would be grateful for any input on the matter, no matter how brief. Glad to hear we might be seeing more of Thomas of Hookton, by the way.
