Hi Mr. Cornwell. In your answer to a March 4th letter from Geraint, you mentioned that you were considering having Starbuck present for the 54th Massachusetts assault on Fort Wagner, SC. Since this assault took place on July 18th, 1863, it would probably preclude Starbuck from being at Gettysburg, which was only two weeks before. Fort Wagner would make a good story, but if its a choice between that and Starbuck at Gettysburg, it’s no contest: have him at Gettysburg. Alan Kempner
