I’ve just spent the last 2-3 months reading the entire Sharpe series, short stories included in chronological order and I loved them. I really didn’t think anyone could beat Uthred and Finan as my favourate partners in crime but Sharpe and Harper do. I was also surprised by how much I wanted Jane to die in the later books so Sharpe can remarry and reclaim what’s left of his wealth but an eternity of shame for her will have to do.

What I wanted to ask is a few weeks back I noticed a comment regarding the mystery of who is Sharpe’s father? I personally like to imagine he is Major General Sir David Baird’s love child, Sharpe seems to have a bit of the brave heart spirit, they liked each other instantly in Sharpe’s Tiger and he loves the bagpipes in battle. Could you please solve the mystery for me or set it out so I can try to work it out for myself. Thank you.
