Dear Mr. Cornwell
Thank you for your work. Only a few short years ago my father introduced me to you through the Sharpe series and since that time, we both read everything you have published. He and I  enjoyed sharing your books, both literarily and figuratively; he would pass on copies of your books to me (only after he had finished them) and then we’d  talk about your characters, plots and the history assocaited with them.
Last September (2011), my Dad passed away very suddenly. One of the things that remains is a deep appreciation for your work, both new and old, not only for the craft involved in their creation and your unique writing style but for what it represented to Dad and I. You have become apart of the many things I was able to share with my father , and for that I am truly grateful.
It was only after Dad had passed that I picked up “Death of Kings” – which  I read with him in mind, knowing that he would have thoroughly enjoyed it, and also, knowing he would have laughed at the irony of the title.:)
I ramble.
