You often get asked (including by myself I admit) on if you will ever write about the war of 1812 and whether you will get Sharpe there. While you seem equally determined not to get Sharpe to that conflict. But what about Fredrickson after Sharpes Revenge and falling out with Sharpe it says in Sharpes Waterloo that he was in Canada.So the obvious question is fair enough don’t use Sharpe but use Fredrickson and write a spin-off out off all the charachters he would seem most capable of carrying his own book anyway.Please consider even just 1 story as while Forrester due to writing at wartime kept Hornblower out of the conflict Obrien often got Aubery up against the Americans (Fortunes of War being one of his best works in JMO).
Finally I have to ask you have mentioned your opinion in the past on Washington’s generalship but what about Greene. The man never won a single battle yet is credited with winning the war in the South.
