Dear Bernard.

I have, and am reading, ‘again’, in sequence, (for the 3rd or 4th time), all 21 of your ‘Sharpe’ series! – from ‘Tiger’ to ‘Devil’, and write to you on two counts. 1/. Amongst all the writers I have ever-read, as my favourite writer, I have you in uncontestable/unimpeachable position No ‘1’. I believe, sir, that you are without-peer as a writer of magnificent, historic, (and ‘educational’) 18th century war thrillers. I offer you my hearfelt thanks for having discovered your writings, and wish and hope that you will continue to turn out many, many, more, new, similar adventures. As I start-again now, re-reading ‘Tiger’ I wonder whether there ‘may’ possibly-be an opportunity to add-to this great, great ‘Sharpe’ series!  ‘This opportunity’ being the six-years that you refer-to that preceeded ‘Tiger’ !!! those ‘missing’ (!) six years offering numerous other/new possibilities – from the moment that he, Richard Sharpe, joined-up at age ’16’; – new-adventures heading onwards eventually ‘linking-up-with’ what at presnt ‘is’ TIGER. It’s just a thought. Regardless, once again, I offer you my most sincere thanks for the countless hours of huge-enjoyment these ’21’ (and others) have given me.   –   One final observation sir! Is there a marvellous opportunity for ALL ‘twenty-one’ of them to be ‘boxed-up’ as a gift/present set?. I believe such a ‘package’ would sell in the multiple-thousands!!!
