Has Sharpe’s father ever been mentioned in the Sharpe books written after Waterloo? Not seen as a character but simply mentioned. Was he ever mentioned in the TV series?
Is the horse fictional, like Jeremiah or real, Copenhagen?

I, like most others here, am a huge fan of your work. I am particularly fond of the Sharpe series. Having discovered the mystery of the protagonists parentage yesterday, I am intrigued.
A shot in the dark maybe, but is Sharpe’s father the hangman Thomas Cheshire?
– Happy person, Cheshire cat; Shire horse.

– Ironic as you like!
The only obvious inconsistency is the dates he was alive…
