I am reading your excellent book “1356” and have come across the word “horrid” used at least three times so far. I have always been fond of the word that my Grandmother Becker would use when something was “horrid”.

So I looked up “horrid” in several dictionaries and they generally agree that the first known use of the word was around 1590. Interesting?
