Dear Bernard,

I just wanted to say that I have just finished Pagan Lord ( I have read all of them). What a shame you can’t make him immortal. I think I’ve fallen in love with this character!!!! This is the 17th book of yours that I’ve read (haven’t read Sharpe as the period doesn’t appeal to me and I have seen many episodes on the television). I have enjoyed enormously  everyone of the books that I’ve read and have to say you are indeed a brilliant storyteller.  I read a lot, different genres, different authors and I like the way that you write, it flows. Your sentence construction is complex and you don’t overwhelm the reader with too much description and I love the touches at the end of a section or chapter where you use a very short sentence like ” So I did.”   I could whittle on and on but I think I’ll finish by saying a big thank you Bernard for giving me so much pleasure.
