Dear Bernhard Cornwell,
I was just reading one of your books and felt my wish to tell you finally how much I love to read your books.
Long time I avoided reading the final part of the Arthurs Triology fearing the bad and sad stories Derfel had to tell in this part of chronicle – and because it is the final part and has to end. But I read the whole story of Uhtred, Stonehenge and after reading the two first parts of the Arthurs Triology again, I decided to read the final part too. I admire how you describe the history of Britanny and England. I learn a lot and find it very interesting. I appreciate it very much that you make it clear for the reader which parts are history and which are imagination. And I admire your imagination and kind of writing. It gives life to the person you describe and I can imagine Derfel or Uhtred and all other characters as real persons with light and shadows. Even though it is a “men’s world” in this age of britain history there are very interesting and strong female characters. You show how female and male power is a relative matter. I think it is also great how you deal with religion and faith, beliefs in the old way or christianity. You describe a very real world – as we experience it – but although the stories are not without mysticism, because it matters to the persons, who lived at that times. And even if the events are sometimes very cruel or sad or both, there is  so much passion, hope on the other hand – and a good portion of humor also, that make reading an addiction. So even the end of Arthurs Story is near I had to laugh often and I can´t wait what will happen at Samhain, so I will continue reading after having sent you many thanks for your great books!
