I only started reading your work over the past two years, having been a fan of (good) historical fiction for a number of years.

First of your books I read was Agincourt – superb – then I had a years delay before i got stuck into the Thomas Hookton novels on holiday in autumn last year;  I really enjoyed these (more please!). I had always known about the Sharpe novels because the of the TV series but had avoided them because there were so many!  I finally got stuck in a few months ago and was disappointed last night to find that I only have 8 left to read! Disaster!  I suppose i shall have to start all over again when i get to the end of the series…  The point of this letter is in fact to say thank you for giving so much reading pleasure (the sharpe books are superb) and for teaching me so much about the Napoleonic Wars, a period of history about  which i know very little.  You are a star – keep it up!

Kind regards

Andrew
