I just wanted to write and tell you how much I love your books especially the pre gunpowder age.  Also on your questions I saw that someone seemed upset with you for not rapping up the Saxon Tales, or developing the characters enough.  I respect his opinion but have to disagree 100% I thought you did a great job of changing Uhtred’s focus from accomplishments in life more to legacy and his children’s legacy, as well as realizing the realities of everyone aging around him.  Its almost as if this book is preparing for the changing of the guard if you will.  Also most of the characters in my opinion we already know quite well and do not need to re get to know after reading about them for over 30-40 years. Also we got to know Cnut much better this book, he almost reminds me of a person who could have been like a second Ragnar to Uhtred in an alternate universe.  I quite enjoyed it.
Especially the added twist that he had to duel someone he liked and respected so much all because they were of opposing views.  You bring such a sense of realness to these books and characters I truly hope they never ruin your wonderful writing and my imagination with a movie, they could never do it justice.  Also I really hope you plan to write at least 2 more books about Uhtred, I try to pace myself but it usually takes less then 48 hours to read one of your books and from there the waiting game begins.  Truly I will be grateful for any further writings you have regarding the pre gunpowder era, I find history so much more interesting before people started blowing everything up to solve their problems.  Thank you again for all your captivating books The Arthur tales, Saxon Tales, Grail Quest, Agincourt, 1356.  Not one I have read I have disliked, truly a remarkable feet for that many books.  I hope you have a wonderful day and look forward to your next book.
