Thank you for another excellent read. I can only say “more please”. I find the characters, all of them, so alive on the page and so believable. My favourite character, after Uhtred? Finan; such loyalty, such faith, but with perhaps not always un questioning obedience. Please do not kill him off!

Finally a thanks for stories that are told very strongly without the need for foul language. Strong descriptive text doesn’t need to include offensive the anglo saxon phrases which dominates so much literature these days.
