You may or may not be interested there were two dark age battles at wodens burgh now known as wednesbury in the the midlands in the former kingdom of Mercia close to the border with wales you may like to know the Saxon name for wednesbury it’s Wedgbury or a version of Wedgbury which is my family name and the name of all my relatives. It makes you think about both the battles and who were the lords that held the area and whether the strands of time are still linked and whether the threads are still being woven to this days
