Dear Mr. Cornwell,
I’m a big fan of your books, but let me express the deep disappointment of the small passage of Waterloo book – regarding how Napoleon spent his years on St.Helen complaining on the conditions and making life of H.Lowe difficult. I must say that this is unfair attitude and being Englishman as yourself should not mean to be unfair to the defeated enemy. by all accounts the condition at Longwood House and its location were awful and Lowe’s behaviour was appalling even in the eyes of his countrymen. I wish you should not place this brief passage in your book.
Sincerely yours,
Zeev
