I’m just finishing WATERLOO; The History of Four Days, Three Armies and Three Battles.  It is superb.  It is a book I will read many times.  I hope we can look forward to more nonfiction works by you.

Also, I wish you could find a way to revive the Starbuck Chronicles.  I understand your point about Nate Starbuck’s character being too like Richard Sharpe’s, but you have such a rare gift for storytelling, and particularly for describing battles, that I can overlook that.  I just finished an historical novel that made the Battle of Shilo seem comparatively dull.  It would be a shame for you to leave the Civil War to lesser writers.
