Dear Mr Cornwell,

I read your “Waterloo” in preparation for going to see the 200th anniversary enactment at Waterloo, Belgium. I loved your book: well researched, well written, thoughtful opinions, wonderfully pertinent scenes and examples, good pictures. (The facial portrait of Ney transfixed me.)

So, in violation of your rules, I beg you to write two more non-fiction books; Wellington  in India and Wellington in Spain.

Perhaps begging is not the same as suggesting.

Sincerely,

Pete Hargrove
