I would just like to start by thanking you for the many years of enjoyment that I have had from your books and I look forward to may more!

After re-reading the clue about Sharpe’s Father once more and a bit of a convoluted bit of research, I came up with Lord Cornwallis as a possible, recently home in disgrace from America, seeking solace in the arms of Elizabeth Sharpe? It may explain the martial ability.

I’m already looking forward to reading about Richard Shakespear later in the year and hopefully Uthred soon after!
