Hi Bernard

Have read and indeed re-read all your books and I love them all to bits.

I’m really looking forward to your foray into Shakespearian theatre. Thanks to a superb English teacher who successfully guided me through English Literature A level more years ago than I would like to remember I have a real passion for Shakespeare.I love watching, listening to and reading the plays. My personal favourites are King Lear-harrowing yet majestic and Richard II-staggering use of the English language. But then again where do you start and indeed finish with such incredible characters, speeches, scenes and so on.My passion is greeted with boos of derision by many of my dear friends who find Shakespeare ‘boring’,’out of date’ ,’hard to follow’ etc.No problem there-everyone’s entitled  to their own opinion. The great irony is however that an awful lot of the words and phrases they use in everyday conversation would’nt be there without either first being used or indeed invented by Will of Stratford. They’d be lost without him.

When you start a new period for you like ‘Fools and Mortals’ do you know from the outset whether it will be a standalone or the start of a series. Also after you’ve completed your intensive research and preparation have you ever dropped a project as you think it will not work out to your satisfaction. If so if you were able to would you try again.

Finally is Sharpe’s father either Sir Henry Simmerson-heaven forbid- or ‘Daddy’ Hill.

Many thanks for all the pleasure   your hard work has provided for me.

Best wishes to you and yours

Keith

P.S.–Whilst I love and worship your works could I respectfully suggest that you either peruse the Internet or visit my wonderful home city of Liverpool to see the Merseytravel bus timetables. You will have to go a long way to find such incredible fiction as this.

Thanks again
