To my knowledge there aren’t many fictional books covering the life and times of William Marshall. You could do much service to such an outstanding character of British History. Have you ever thought of writing a book or book series about the Greatest Knight?

Mr. Cornwell
You’ve been clear with a number of previous enquirers that you have no interest in the Crusades, which I think is unfortunate, but everyone’s interests are their own. Do you have any interest in writing about King Richard’s campaign to regain the territory Philip Augustus snatched out from under him while he was on crusade or the subsequent struggles for the English throne and among the barons? I think the Cornwell touch would be wonderfully suited to the exploits of guys like King Richard, William Marshal, and King John.
Thank you
