Dear Mr. Cornwell,

I really enjoy your books and I am looking forward to the next Uthred-novel.

Reading the questions on your website I noriced there seems to be an ongoing riddle about Sharpes father.

I recall that when I read Sharpes Siege, that Captain Killick was described as a character similar to Sharpe (tough, daring, brave, good looking etc.) and that Sharpe „for some reason“ liked Killick. I also recall that -when I read that in the middle of the book-  I thought „Maybe it turns out that Sharpe and Killick are half-brothers“.

I do not recall if it there were any details of Killicks father mentioned, but if he was smuggler who later settled in the colonies, he might have been Sharpes father too.

Was he?
