Hello Mr. Cornwell,
I’m an avid reader of all your books.. in Spanish translation, probably have more than two dozens of them under my belt. Only read two in English, because couldn’t find the Spanish versions: The Flame Bearer and Vagabond.
Even though I’m 64 years old and always liked to read, before year 2000 I knew nothing about your work, since I’m originally from a communist country where frivolities such as your novels weren’t included in the state run editorial industry.
This morning I just finished another wonderful book of yours: “Red Coat”, Spanish version from “Editorial Pamies”, very well translated from English in my opinion.
Cutting to the chase, this is my question: Is the lovely and fierce Jeanette Chenier, Countess of Armorica, inspired somehow upon the historical character of Joanna of Flanders?
Keep on writing!
Thanks much!
