Hello

I am going to purchase your books right now. But i am searching for ANY documents related in the 74th Argyle Highlanders Regiment of Foot.

My GGG Grandfather was Alexander Stewart recruited from Scotland into the 74th mentioned above in 1778/78. IN 1784 they disbanded in Halifax Nova Scotil.  He was given a choice to leave or go home,. He stayed and was granted Land on the Miramichi River in New Brunswick in 1805. Better people than I at finding information about him have tried, we have him on the disbanded list, on land Grant papers and some others…with no middle initial and his wife’s name is a mystery also.  We know he had son Alexander and a son Adam and more… So as I was reading this interesting story about the siege on line and i found your book.  I thought i would at least try and see if you know where I can get  a record of his Enlistment papers with his age, where he lived in Scotland  etc. I am planning a trip to Scotland and would love to see where he was from. I understand if you don’t know where to look.

Thank you in advance

Christine Murray (Stewart)
