Dear Mr Cornwell.
I have just read your Saxon series from the start again(must be 8th or 9th time I have read the series as more books get added to it I start the series again) to build up to the new edition. You bring the characters to life so much that it feels like I know them the only other author who has really had that effect is the late David Gemmell(I have also read all his books several times, he is my favourite fantasy author as you are my favourite his toric all fiction author). One thing about the Saxon series there are some huge characters who made a huge impact in the stories but only played a relatively small part in the series, people such as Steapa and Father Pyrlig(excuse my spelling I struggle with the spelling of the names, well spelling and grammar in general lol). I think Father Pyrlig could have a series of books written just about himself with the glimpses of his past you write about in the books. Same as people like Finan and Steapa could have a series written about them before the main series( I am not suggesting you do this as I know you have a lot more projects to finish from previous series and I assume some new projects) I am merely making a point that some of the characters who have relatively small page space in your books make such a impact and you build such a character that it makes a reader want to know more and more about these characters you created, I hope that makes sense and not just the wild ramblings of a new dad who has had very little sleep last night. Well I will end this email with a huge thank you for the hours of total enjoyment you have given me over the years. I have mental health issues and before I was medicated correctly my coping mechanism was reading and yours and other authors books got me through some very dark times and literally saved my life in the past! Not all hero’s wear capes some wield pens and play with words and save lives!
Kind regards
Gary
