Dear Mr Cornwell
I was on holiday in London last week and visited the Anglo Saxon exhibition at the British Library. The exhibition included numerous ancient manuscripts and artifacts relating to the time of Uhtred: Asser’s Life of Alfred, the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle, the Alfred Jewel (on loan from the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford), the treaty between Alfred and Guthrum, a charter by Edward, a contemporaneous portrait of Aethelstan and many others. Having encountered this period and its characters through your Last Kingdom series (and through my subsequent reading inspired by your books), I found the exhibition vivid and fascinating. The exhibition is running until 19 February 2019.
To my delight, a large collection of your Last Kingdom books was on sale in the gift shop. Obviously, the British Library is a fan of your work!
