Hello, Mr Cornwell,
I am sure you’ve been asked this a million times in the past, but are you aware that there existed a real Lieutenant Colonel Sharpe, who commanded a ‘Light Battalion’ of various Regiments’ light companies around September 1799 in Holland?
Again, I’m sure you’re very well aware, but it was a nice surprise reading a short passage about him in Richard Holme’s wonderful book ‘Redcoat’.
Thanks in advance, and I very much look forward to the next instalment in the Last Kingdom Series.
