Hi,
I thank you for writing. I wrote you once before so may repeat some information. Your writing is so enjoyable and easy to read that I can read the same books over with the same amount of pleasure.
If you wrote textbooks, I think the general populace would be better educated because they would read their assignments.
I know that I gladly read your books about Sharpe’s Waterloo, Agincourt, and many others
Although I enjoy all your series, I feel a greater interest in Uhtred and the Anglo-Saxons. All of my ancestry comes from England, Ireland, and Scotland with a little Scandinavian from their invasions and a touch of Western Europe, perhaps from William the Conqueror.
Until recently I thought I was related to Anglo Saxons. I put in hours of research on Ancestry and traced my heritage back to the 900’s with a slew of Lords, Sir Knights, and more.
Just recently I read a report that debunks my connection to all that. My 10th GG Thomas Eames married Millicent Brewster, formerly listed as sister to William Brewster of Mayflower fame.
Now, the Mayflower Society (or some similar name) had stated that Millicent was not his sister and there is no record of her parents.
Still, with my DNA results I still belong to that area.
Thank you for mentioning the book, “Bloodfeud” at the end of “War of the Wolf”. I ordered the book from England and found the historical side of your era very interesting.
Uhtred’s fate was a terrible abuse of trust and honor.
In the middle of all this rambling, I am just letting you know that one more person is a fan of your books.
I know that Uhtred cannot live forever but I look forward to as many books that you can squeeze into the years he has left.
Don Babcock
