I am rereading AZINCOURT, and I have a question about the archers’ fate at the church of Saint Antoine-le-Petit in Soisson ( pages 77-80). Not to change your plot, but wondering if the following scenario was possible: If the archers had suspected treachery, could they have negotiated safe passage through French lines, 10 or 15 at a time, with an 11th or 16th archer returning to confirm the passage/? If the French forces denied the proposal, then the archers would have refused to surrender. Was such an arrangement possible in those times?
