I seem to have gone through one Sharpe a week and am currently on Sharpe’s Honour.  Having just finished Sharpe’s enemy i’ve spotted something again weird in myself.  I know you’re naming Hakeswill as “Sharpe’s Enemy”

But i can’t help thinking there’s a subtle “changing of the guard” when it comes to who Sharpe’s enemy is?  Sharpe even says to him Remember me Ducos, your enemy.”

Was this just coincidence or was that the intention?  I’m thinking probably more that i overthink and it’s coincidence ha ha.

Also, on the subject of Ducos, looking into the future, i can see why you’ve  said as his creator i can try to manipulate the characters, but their personality dictates their actions”  or something like that.  Did you ever find it ironic that if Ducos had just been able to get over his obsession, he’d probably have lived a long and fruitful life?
