l have read all the books and watched the netflix series , the most ridiculous thing spoiling the whole  series ,because they ve gone to great trouble to create historical accuracy in great detail.Utred engages in battle without wearing a helmet as if any king ,warlord would take part in battle without one,  many beautiful helmets have been found in archeological sites like sutton hoo and others of exquisite helmets, the most important item a warrior would have ,absolutely paramount ,arrows spears flying around and utred is not wearing one ,protecting your head is the most important thing , yet uttered is portrayed as insane, even the soldiers in the lower ranks are all wearing helmets in historical reality the leaders wore distinctive helmets as would have utred ,historically soldiers seemed to stop wearing helmets during the 18th and 19th  centuries, they were revived during world war 1 ,the illustration on the cover of war lord has a beautiful one.
