I have just read Fools and Mortals – a story of Shakespeare in Elizabethan London – I read it in three sittings and was transported into a period I know well historically – it was a thrilling experience and I literally tingled with shared joy at the successful performance of A Mid Summers Nights Dream – I wanted to be with the Lord Chamberlains men that day and felt I was.

As someone with a lifelong love of London and Shakespeare and history I adored your novel and was utterly convinced and enthralled by the captivating characters and the rough, bawdy and boisterous people and streets- rubbing shoulders with aristocratic elegance, power and palaces I wanted to say thank you for one of the best books I have read in a long while – what a performance – bravo! Will  there be an encore?
