Dear Mr. Cornwell,

Thank you Sir, for a life time of happiness, exhilaration and vicarious indulgence, lost in your characters I feel I know so well. I’ve read every book you’ve ever written, having been introduced to Sharpe when I was starting high school in the year 2000.

Having discovered my old Sharpe collection at my Mother’s house I recently reread the entire series and couldn’t believe it when I saw you had brought him back.

It’s tough to pick between Uhtred and Sharpe and I’m glad I don’t have to.

I hope this finds you safe and well and I look forward to the days I can pass my books on to my children (aged 4 and 6 so a touch young for now) and give them all the joy you have brought me.
