I would just like to express my deep gratitude for the inspiration your books have given me over the years. Not only have I enjoyed them, but because they are my favourite books ever, I have tried to learn how to write from them. My own first historical novel was published the day before yesterday and although it is set in the Hittite Empire, over the hills and far away from your settings, it would not have been possible without your example. I’d send you a copy, but unfortunately it’s only available in German.
