Hi Bernard, I hope you will not mind giving me a little advice. I am really close to finishing a first historical novel. Should I submit it one agent at a time or should I bombard the (relevant) agent world with it in one obliterating strike?
Also I’ve read somewhere that you have a regard for William Trevor. Just wondering what you think of other Irish writers, John McGahern and the more recent ones like Joe O’Connor, John Banville, Colm Toibin, Anne Enright? I’m about to read Joe O’Connor’s “Star of the Sea” which is set aboard an Irish famine ship which you might find interesting. I think he uses flashback though to break the confines. Thanks Bernard Willie
