Hello Mr.Cornwell, Huge fan of your Sharpe series, from Canada. I was reading it when I was 11 and now I’m 19 and still enjoy the novels and episodes. In the series you never depicted Sharpe’s father, and you gave the clue that it was 8 letters, I believe. Could it possibly be Napoleon, who perhaps visited England earlier in his life, or something of that nature? Also I very much enjoy the depiction of Sharpe by Sean Bean, it was a great role for him. I would like to ask you, if you have ever been asked to redo the Sharpe series either as set of episodes, or full movies? Or have you considered such a notion? I ask this just on the grounds that with a higher budget, or even with the more modern technology seen in our film industries worldwide; that Sharpe could be displayed with the realism that the books portray. It would be very epic, I think, to see the recreation of some battle scenes, arrayed with full rank battalions and massive amounts of men and gear. I believe, even without the fans, that eventually people would be falling all over themselves for the ruggedly handsome rogue with an English accent. Who is ‘badass’ and gets into all kinds of mischief and adventures. Anyways, you read enough of me for one day, and I am certain people have badgered you enough in your lifetime.
