Hi, I’m reading your book which I am thoroughly enjoying when Monsieur Belas was one of the characters.   This might seem odd to you that I am emailing you regarding this but Belas is my maiden name and I have been looking for a very long time as to where this surname evolved from.  Did you find it in research for your book?  I know that my ancestors came from France.  I hope you will be able to reply to me.
