Mr. Cornwell,

I have enjoyed the Sharpe series (as well as the Saxon series) immensely.  I hope it is a complement to say that they are at least as good as the Hornblower series which I loved.  Thank you so much for writing.  Your books are the most readable I’ve ever encountered and I actually have to space your books out (reading two books between each Sharpe novel) in order to make the series last.

You have inspired me to try writing a novel.   That is not to say that I think it is an easy thing, but nonetheless I am trying.  (I am currently familiarizing myself with the portion of the iceberg beneath the surface that is research.)
