It is hard not to notice that many Irish characters are likable and many English, officers, especially, are not. I wonder why. You are English, why the Irish bias? Is it calculated to sell more books? That is the real reason I’m interested. Do you mind sharing a few sentences of insight? I can not explain my fascination with the Sharpe series, and that puzzles me. My best guess is that it has something to do with an affinity for the Irish myself.
