I have recently read the novel “Sharpe’s Tiger”. And I must say, I was very annoyed how you depicted the death of Tipu Sultan. In the novel, Tipu sultan tries to flee the city and Sharpe finds him and kills him in a tunnel. This is completely opposite to how the warrior king died. In reality he fell defending the breach in the city wall sword in hand. I realise that this is a novel, and that in historical novels authors need to take liberties, but don’t you think that giving Tipu an inglorious death in some dark tunnel does him injustice?
