Dear Mr Cornwell, I’ve been avidly reading your excellent novels for a many years and jealously limiting my reading time in order to make them last longer. I think you would do a wonderful job writing about my personal hero, Harold Godwinson, the last Saxon king of England. Hope Muntz wrote a superb book about him, The Golden Warrior. I hope you will decide in favour of this subject. An American, my English husband took me to Battle, near Hastings; I stood on the Hill of Senlac in awe that Harold had fought there. He was a hero amongst heroes and truly worthy of a Bernard Cornwell novel of high adventure, albeit tragic. Ideally, perhaps you could change the ending? Adair Arlen
