Sir I love all of your books even the ones with the modern day settings. Of course being an ex soldier I love the Sharpe books most of all. I have now got the complete set of Sharpe books and am about to start reading them all over again for the third Time (I am retired now so I have the time) When I was younger one of my teachers told me that a good book was one that you could read more than once. Well the only other books I have read more than once have been things by Dickens, Mark twain Dumas and A Connan Doyle. (Sorry if the spelling is off a bit.) That is not to say some of the books I have read would not have been worth reading again but its rare that I get pulled back like I do with your books. I am trying to find a book club that would sell your books in Hardback in a uniform format suitable for a bookshelf collection but as yet I have not been able to find one. As far as the Sharpe books are concerned will you ever write a complete book of Sharpe’s early years? I am sure that a book about his early life and background would be a good subject. Also a book that would fill in the gaps between the Sharpe and Starbuck stories. Then again you may have had enough of Sharpe by now although I hope not. Your books have also given me a new interest in history and pushed me into looking up a few facts for myself and for that I am eternally grateful. I run a website for my ex Royal Engineer Squadron and I find it is some times very difficult to put my thoughts down to make it interesting and I find it difficult to discipline my self to do things. the site is at www.beef-51.britishforces.com.
