Hello again sorry for contacting you again so soon but I have discovered that in my village Bradwell Derbyshire there is an apparent Mercian Fortification that is called the Grey ditch which I previously thought was a Roman fortification because of the Navio fort at Brough, however I am contacting you because in 626 AD a battle between Northumbria and Wessex(possibly with the aid of Mercia) took place across the valley at Win Hill and Lose hill so named for the winning sides, so I thought my area might be a significant part of Mercian and Northumbrian history, however when I look for it on the internet all I get are short anecdotes that go into no depth so I just contacted you for advice and to tell you the story. Thanks a lot
