I am interested in what you may know through your research about the Durham area and the aftermath of the saxon/celt/norse arrangements to settle the fighting.I live in NZ and believe the village of Hunwick (the Hunwick’s)next to the river wear 2k’s out of the bishop Auckland and 10k’s from Durham may have been an inter-marriage between the locals and the norse/danish settlers.It’s an assumption,I have found no other information but I wondered whether you may have any information and I hope it is not too much of an intrusion to so ask.
