Happy New Year, Mr. Cornwell. I just finished Agincourt. Congratulations on once again bringing us to the mud and blood of the battlefield like no one else. As I often do, I asked myself, how could the French have won? If I’d been the French commander, I would have sent the first battle on a long flanking march around the Agincourt forest. They would be mounted and leave before dawn so the English didn’t see them. Then, I would have advanced with the second battle but not closed, to keep the English’s attention and make them use up their arrows. The third battle would be my reserve. When the first battle was in position, I would have hit their line from the front and the rear at the same time. Would this have worked, in your opinion? I also want to join the other fans in urging you to write a further adventure with Nick Hook, centering around the battle of Vernuil, as well as another Thomas of Hookton story putting him at the battle of Poitiers.
