Hi Bernard, I’m a big fan of your writing, in fact 8 of the 20 books I read in 2009 were by your good self. I’ve been looking / waiting for, someone to wright a series set in the time of the war of the roses, Christ you got everything going on then, murder, mystery, sex , betrayal, plus a good helping of set battles. Yet I’ve never found anything other than girlie books, with little too much sewing and moist loins for my tastes. I know you’ve probably got a list of planed projects as long as your arm, but there is a great series set in this period, just waiting to be written. A cheeky request I know, but no one else will do the period justice. All the best for 2010, Regards Gary Richardson

I’ve just finished reading Azincourt and would like to say how very much I enjoyed it, a splendid diversion over the few days before Christmas. It’s so much better reading history in fiction form rather than from a textbook. Just one thing about Azincourt: in the scene where the mine collapses and St Crispinian tells Hook to kill Robert Perrill – well, I’m sorry but no saint would ever ask someone to commit murder! A devil would, but a saint – never. He could not be a saint otherwise. Have you ever thought of writing a series based on the Wars of the Roses, starting at St Albans and finishing at Bosworth? Now that would be REALLY worth reading.
