I can imagine that deciding what to write about involves (a)a subject you like combined with (b) what a publisher thinks is “saleable” and I wonder if you have ever wanted to write a book about something which intrigues YOU, rather than the book companies or the “majority” of the buying public? Did you ever want to branch off with one of Sharpe’s/Starbuck’s co-characters:ie- Patric Lassan in the 1870 Franco-Prussian War; General Calvet in Russia; Fredrickson in the Battle of New Orleans; Patrick Harper’s transition to a pub in Dublin? I’m not suggesting; just curious about my favourite author! Thanks for everything you’ve ever written. I own most of your books. Sincerely, Paul Higgins
