I’ve read the Arthur books and enjoyed them tremendously. However, I can’t help but hope that you will do a book on Derfel Cadarn after Arthur goes on to Avalon. I can’t believe that he answers the summons of Samsun and that’s the end. Please disabuse me of that notion.

Dear Mr. Cornwell, I just read Agincourt and then reread the Arthur series. Of all your books, and they are all great, I like the Arthur series the best. (I noticed in your favourite too!) I know that Arthur is sleeping in Avalon but what happened with Nimue? What did Derfel and his warband do right after Arthur left? Did Derfel die standing guard at the monastery in Powys as the story suggests or did he ever outlive Sansun? Sorry so many questions.

What I really like about the series is how you took a legend and dialed it back down to something that was extraordinary but plausible but it was seen through the eyes of people who believed in Magic. Anyway, could you tell me which characters in the series were historical? Or point me in the right direction to find out? For example was Derfel historical? I hope they make a movie of the series. Did you see the Arthur movie with Clive Owen? I thought it was okay but a little disappointing. Can’t wait to read Burning! Thanks, Kirk
