Mr. Cornwell- love your books, although I backed into them starting with “Gallows Thief”, and not any of the other series (I’d love to see another Rider Sandman novel). Moved on then to the Arthur books, since I’ve read just about anything related to Arthur mythology. I’m now enjoying the Sharpe books- I’m up to “Sharpe’s Company” now. So here’s the question- what happened to Harper’s girlfriend Joana? He was worried about her in “Sharpe’s Fury”, but she seems to now be replaced by Isabella.
Second question- any chance that Sharpe’s son by Lady Grace actually survived, and her relatives simply told Sharpe that he had died in order to get rid of him? I can’t imagine Sharpe was actually present at the birth (in the house maybe, but not the room) and certainly would have been barred from the child after Lady Grace died. I also wouldn’t think Sharpe would follow up on Grace’s family after she died. Anyway, it would be interesting for Sharpe to run into a grown-up son. Thanks for the great reading, and here’s to the next Sharpe novel! Chris
