Hi Bernard, I am 2/3rds of the way through the Grail trilogy, book 3 any time now .. and have been doing some Internet surfing for my own research into the 15th century, in particular two medieval knights. In the books you have all the knights on destriers, rather than coursers or rounceys, whereas I understand a destrier was a very expensive animal and not every knight had one. There are a few hundred other questions relating to destriers, but I hope a more precisely dedicated forum will be able to provide the answers to those, such as who volunteered to train them to fight, and so on! I just wondered, did you stick with destriers to make it easy for the readers to follow? I am writing the biography of one of the knights, and am ever looking for more information, whilst at the same time I am a writer creating historical novels. I am just interested to know the thinking, it will be some guide as to where I go in fiction (the non fiction needs to be strictly factual although I am sure my Earl had more than enough money to own destriers!)
