hello Mr Cornwell, I am a major fan of the Sharpe series and Sharpe’s Havoc was the first real book I read. Since then I have read most of the books and seen all the films and am working my way through Escape now and still have Fury to read. I was wondering if you could explain to me a couple of points that I may have missed or were not included in the books- fist what happened to Tongue? And also how did Hakeswell escape the snake pit in Fortress? Love the work and keep it up! From James

I am reading the wonderful Sharpe’s books in the historical order of the stories but I am a bit confused. I thought I read in one of the earler stories that Sergeant Obadiah Hakeswill was killed. But then in later stories he has come back to life. Am I imagining this? Bruce Martin
